How do I get there?
Inari is easy to reach whether you are arriving with air or land transportation!
If you wish to use air transportation, we recommend to take a flight to Ivalo Airport. The flight between Helsinki and Ivalo is approximately 1,5 hours. During Winter Season (December – March) airways such Finnair and Norwegian operate daily between Helsinki and Ivalo. Finnair operates weekly between Helsinki and Ivalo all year around.
Transfer from Ivalo Airport to Inari takes approximately 45 minutes. We arrange transportation services between Ivalo Airport and Inari. You can check the rates and make a booking in our online store (Book Activities -> Enhance Your Stay -> Transfer Ivalo Airport to Wilderness Hotel Inari) or via email.
From Ivalo Airport to Wilderness Hotel Inari there is also a possibility to take a public bus. If you are going to Inari, get off at the bus stop next to our hotel and then walk to our hotel (approximately 150 meters). You can check bus schedules from www.matkahuolto.fi (e.g. Matkahuolto -> from Ivalo Airport to Wilderness Hotel Inari -> Search for Timetables). Please note that the schedules for Winter Season may not be published yet.
If you wish to use land transportation, we recommend to take a train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi and then a public bus from Rovaniemi to Inari. The train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi takes about 12 hours and the bus from Rovaniemi to Inari about 5 hours. You can check the train schedules from www.vr.fi and the bus schedule from www.matkahuolto.fi.
